Auf zum letzten Abschnitt der Decke! Starting the last sequence of the afghan!

Der siebte Abschnitt der Decke ist fertig!! Für die helle Riesenstrophe am rechten Rand hab ich dann doch fast 200 g Wolle und 2 komplette Abende gebraucht :)!

Sylvester kurz vor Mitternacht hatte ich die Decke gewogen, um die verstrickten Meter noch dem alten Jahr zuordnen zu können - da waren es schon gut knapp 850 Gramm = 1600 Meter!
Jetzt wird erst wieder gewogen, wenn sie fertig ist - noch 18 helle und 18 dunkle Nadeln sind mit der letzten Sequenz abzuarbeiten, gut ein Drittel des Umfangs sind jetzt schon nadelfrei!

Zeigen kann ich das Teil jetzt auch erst wieder, wenn es ganz fertig ist, denn jetzt kommen alle gut 1000 Maschen auf eine 2 Meter-Nadel, mit der ich dann auch den Abschlussrahmen stricken werde - 3 Doppelrunden kraus rechts im Grundgarn und dann mit angestricktem I-Cord abketten.

Und dann bin ich mal gespannt, wie groß die Decke letztendlich geworden sein wird!

The seventh spiral sequence is finished! The last stanza in main color took me nearly 200 g of yarn and two evenings!

On new Year's Eve, shortly before midnight, I put the afghan on my scales to add the knitted yarn meters to the account of the old year - it weighed nearly 850 grams = 1600 meters!
Now I'll weigh it again when it is completely finished - just 18 light and 18 dark pins are left to get worked off with the last sequence, about one third of the circumference is already pin-free!

I won't be able to show you the afghan again before it will be completely finished. Now I'll take all 1000 or more stitches onto one 2 meters long circular. With this needle I'll knit the finishing border as well - 3 double rounds of garter ridges and then cast off with applied I-Cord.

I am really excited how large the afghan finally will be!

Und weil wieder einige nach einer konkreten Anleitung gefragt haben - die gibt es nur bedingt! Die Decke ist ziemlich frei nach Birgit Fadenzaubereiens "Red Fruit Jelly" gestrickt, einer Erklärung der Spiral-Technik für FORTGESCHRITTENE Swing-Stricker, die mindestens die Kursbausteine 1 bis 5 gestrickt und verstanden haben!

Some of you asked for a pattern for this afghan - there is Birgit Fadenzaubereien's explanation how to swing-knit a spiral, but it is not a row-by-row or stanza-by-stanza pattern! Birgit's "Red Fruit Jelly" is available in German, and it is a recipe for ADVANCED Swing-Knitters who at least knitted and understood the Swing-Knitting Workshops 1 to 5!
